www.flickr.com/photos/jaydaley www.flickr.com/photos/jaydaley/7736497212/in/photostream It’d be a couple of years now that I’ve been perusing this passion called photography – and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time doing so, but it’s only of late that I’ve begun to feel as though I’m maturing as a ‘photographer’. I wouldn’t say that I’m anywhere near a point at which I could claim a consummate culmination of years of experience nor would I say that I’m technically or creatively growing day by day (definitely not). I am, however, beginning to appreciate photography for what it truly is – an entirely endless pursuit of the unknown. I, for one, have absolutely no idea at what point in this odyssey I will feel an imperforate culmination to my photographic endeavours over the years, nor what it would require for me to shoot that impeccable crowning shot. Personally – I don’t think that exists and I’m rather happy it doesn’t!! This photo was a nightmare to take. It was cold (below 0 Celsius) and the frost was constantly forming as ice over my lens every few minutes. I was tired, my water bottle was frozen and I was thirsty. The field was full of cows (and I’m still trying to convince myself that cows can make a human-esque sounding cough and it wasn’t a person watching me from the bushes in the middle of nowhere at 3am) and the moon was causing havoc with my stars but then I remind myself that this is all part of the adventure and that, somehow, makes it totally worth-while. I have absolutely no idea what endeavours I will experience or photos I will shoot in the future or who I’ll meet along the way but I’m sure I’ll have a good time..
